When it is cold there are not much people on the streets, but bars, restaurants and clubs are always crowded. While spring begins in May, the most enjoyable period is from June to September. This is the time when the city most pleasant, the locals hang winter clothing in the cupboard and walk along the medieval streets of Gamla Stan.

You should choose the period of time for your trip by yourself, as it is up to you to decide how you want to spend your holidays. In summer it is hot and you will be surrounded by lots of people. In spring there is no heat, but still not cold. There are little tourists at this time, on the streets only locals who are very hospitable and helpful people. So, the rest would be something like Christmas which is usually shown in American movies. Autumn is usually quite cool and often rainy. In winter it is cold, but city looks wonderful and fabulous, so that you forget about the weather. It is very nice to sit in some cafe, restaurant or even in a hotel room drinking coffee or sweet tea, and watch the snow's fall.
